Introduction
These terms govern your use of the Nova Security mobile application and the services behind it. By installing or using the app you accept them. They should be read together with the Privacy Policy, which explains how your information is handled.
What the app is for
Nova Security is a mobile security suite. It scans Wi-Fi networks, checks links and QR code destinations against a threat database, monitors email addresses against known data breaches, and raises alerts when it finds something.
It is a tool that reduces risk. It is not a guarantee of safety, and it is not a substitute for keeping your device and your accounts up to date.
Registration and your data
Some features require an account. Account-linked data is stored on secure cloud-based servers, and you control access to it from within the app. What we collect and why is set out in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity that takes place under your account.
Your responsibilities
- You must have the right to submit any data you give us, including any email address you ask us to monitor.
- You must not use the app for anything unlawful.
- You must not abuse the threat database or the QR scanner to test, distribute or share malicious content.
- You must not attempt to reverse engineer, resell or circumvent access controls on the service.
Subscriptions and pricing
There is a free tier, which covers a limited number of scans a day along with core threat detection and standard support. It does not expire. Premium adds unlimited scans, advanced monitoring and priority support.
Premium is offered at the following prices in USD:
- Weekly
- $5.00
- Monthly
- $10.00
- Yearly
- $50.00
- Yearly, first year (limited-time offer)
- $35.00
Billing is handled by the App Store or Google Play, depending on where you installed the app. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and cancellation is done in the store account you subscribed through. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan stays active until the period you have already paid for runs out.
Third-party services
The service is built on third-party infrastructure, including Firebase for application services, RevenueCat for subscription management, and external threat intelligence and breach databases. Their availability and accuracy are outside our control.
Data storage and ending your account
You can manage and delete your data from within the app at any time. Deleting your account removes the data associated with it in line with the Privacy Policy, subject to anything we are legally required to keep.
We may suspend or end access to the service where these terms have been breached.
Limitation of liability
Nova Security is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Threat detection is probabilistic. The app will sometimes flag something that turns out to be harmless, and it will sometimes fail to flag something that is not. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of data, for the consequences of a false positive or a false negative, or for interruptions and faults in the software.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Intellectual property
The Nova Security name, logo, interface and software are owned by PeraSoft and protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you, and none of it may be used without written consent.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are communicated in the app or by email, and continued use after they take effect means you accept them. If you do not, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
